Dear Douglas MacArthur GLA Families:
Tis the season to be jolly! On behalf of the staff and students, I want to extend thanks and gratitude for your support and involvement in our Academy.
I want to thank parents who contributed to our food drive, raked leaves with the girls, assisted with the Valley View boy’s visit, volunteered time in any way to make our school he best! We are on our way ~~~~ and I am so thankful.
As you know we are teaching the girls to be good citizens, have outstanding academic achievement, take responsibility for their actions, and put forth tremendous effort. The Monarch’s CARE recognition program has been implemented this month. Our first assembly will be held on Tuesday, December 4th immediately following breakfast. You will be informed by your daughter’s teacher if she will be a recipient this month. The girls’ photos will be displayed monthly on the bulletin board outside the office. We will have this recognition on a monthly basis.
Please mark you calendar. Douglas MacArthur will host the December 11th Cleveland Metropolitan School Board Meeting from 6:00– 9:00 p.m.
Secondly, our parent group will be having a Spaghetti Dinner on December 14th, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Let’s celebrate the season together. Bring your family and friends to enjoy this delicious meal!
Finally, we will conclude this month with an all school performance called “We All Celebrate”. The performance is on December 21st at 10:30 a.m. in the all-purpose room. This concert will warm your heart as the pre-k through grade 2 celebrates our first holiday season together.
